Very simple -
step one: threw it in a sink of lukewarm water
step two: soaked in suds
step three (and four): rinsed in cold water twice
step five: laid flat on towels
step six: rolled and pressed with knees to remove excess water
step seven: took new towels and pinned it in the shape desired to the carpet
step eight: wanted to but didn't touch the thing for 24 hours
By far the most stressful part was listening to my brother, father and Josh comment about what I would be like to deal with me should the blocking experiment go terribly wrong.
Luckily for all the edges came out so much better than when I knitted them. Just look at those beautiful edges on the left. I am now a convert to blocking. Christy - don't be scared - join the revolution.
